6 Killed After Auto Crashes Into Bus In Gujarat’s Patan

Six people were killed when an autorickshaw and a bus collided on the Sami-Radhanpur Highway in the Patan district of Gujarat on Thursday. The accident occurred around 11.30 AM near Sami village in Patan when the state bus, travelling from Himmatnagar to Kutch, and the auto collided.

“All six persons travelling in the autorickshaw, including the driver, died on the spot. The impact was so intense that the mangled remains of the auto got stuck underneath the bus,” Patan Superintendent of Police V K Nayi was quoted as saying by TOI.

As per the preliminary investigation, the bus driver lost control and collided with the auto while attempting to overtake. “Prime facie, it appears that the bus driver lost control of the wheel while trying to overtake another vehicle, resulting in the collision,” the official stated.

Following the incident, the Local police have launched an investigation. Meanwhile, BJP leader and Radhanpur MLA Lavingji Thakor, who also paid his visit to the accident site, confirmed the deaths of all six occupants of the auto.
