Delhi swearing-in ceremony today: First-time MLA Rekha Gupta is all set to be sworn in as the Chief Minister of Delhi today in a mega swearing-in ceremony at the Ramlila Maidan. Gupta was chosen as the Leader of the BJP Legislative Party at a crucial meeting on Wednesday evening. Following the meeting, she was named the next Delhi CM, ending 11 days of suspense over the top post after BJP returned to power after 26 years, ending the decade-long rule of Arvind Kejriwal-led Aam Aadmi Party.
Rekha Gupta had contested the Shalimar Bagh seat in the Delhi Assembly elections on February 5, defeating AAP candidate Bandana Kumari by nearly 30,000 votes.
Later, she met Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena and staked claim to form the next government in Delhi.

Over 25,000 security personnel have been deployed in and around the venue to ensure law and order. The Delhi Police has also issued traffic advisories anticipating a massive crowd on Thursday.
