While Mitchell Santner was in conversation with toss presenter, Ian Bishop, Rohit was seen indulging in a humourous back-and-forth with former Indian cricketer, Dinesh Karthik. Karthik, who was pitchside and had his right hand wrapped around a colleague, was hilariously taunted by Rohit. Rohit, who looked to be in a jolly mood, almost suggested to Karthik about the latter jinxing his chances of winning the toss.

Notably, this was Rohit Sharma‘s 10th successive toss lost in the 50-over format. As a result, he became the first Indian captain to lose 10 tosses on the trot in ODI cricket. Rohit’s unwanted streak began on November 19, 2023, on the day of the final of the World Cup, in which India lost against Australia by a six-wicket margin at the Narendra Modi Stadium, in Ahmedabad.
