Stand-up comedian Kunal Kamra took a swipe at Mumbai Police after a team visited his Mahim residence on Monday in connection with a case over his remarks against Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde. Kamra, however, stated that he had not lived at that address for the past decade.
“Going to an address where I haven’t lived for the last 10 years is a waste of your time & public resources,” he posted on X.

According to an official cited by news agency PTI, Kamra failed to appear before Khar police for the second time despite being summoned. The police team visited his Mahim home, where his family resides, to verify if he would present himself. Since he did not, the next course of action will be decided soon, the official added.

Kamra was first issued a notice to appear last week, but his request for a seven-day extension was denied by the police.
Interim Anticipatory Bail To Kunal Kamra
Earlier, the Madras High Court granted Kamra interim anticipatory bail on 28 March, directing him to execute a bond to the satisfaction of the judicial magistrate at Vanur in Tamil Nadu’s Villupuram district. The comedian had informed the court that he moved from Mumbai to Tamil Nadu in 2021 and has been residing there since, expressing fear of arrest by Mumbai Police.
Three FIRs filed against him in Nashik Rural, Jalgaon, and Nashik (Nandgaon) were transferred to Khar police station last week. The case in Khar was registered based on a complaint filed by Shiv Sena MLA Murji Patel.
Kamra’s controversial video, in which he mocked Shinde over the Shiv Sena split, was filmed at a studio in Khar. On the night of 23 March, Shiv Sena supporters vandalised the studio and the hotel where it is located.
