Bomb Threat At Delhi’s Red Fort, Jama Masjid Turns Out To Be Hoax, Confirms Delhi Police

A bomb threat targeting the iconic Red Fort and Jama Masjid of Delhi triggered a swift response from authorities on Thursday, April 10. According to Delhi Fire Services, the threat call was received at 9:03 AM, raising concerns among security agencies.

Following the alert, a fire tender was rushed to the location to carry out a thorough inspection. However, no suspicious objects were discovered during the search, as per the report by Financial Express.

Delhi Police later confirmed that bomb disposal squads, in coordination with the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), conducted comprehensive checks and determined the threat to be a hoax.

“Red Fort and Jama Masjid received a bomb threat call. According to Delhi Police, nothing suspicious was found during the check and the call was declared as a hoax, ” Delhi Police told news agency ANI.

Bomb Threat At Kolkata’s Indian Museum Turns Out To Be Hoax

In a similar incident, a bomb threat to the Indian Museum in Kolkata triggered a panic on Tuesday (April 1). In response, the security personnel launched a search operation, which turned out to be a hoax, officials said, PTI reported.

The Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), which oversees the security of the over 200-year-old museum, alerted the New Market police station, prompting a comprehensive search operation. Sources revealed that the museum remained closed to the public until police gave the all-clear.

Officials stated that the museum had received an email warning of bombs being planted on the premises on Tuesday, although the message did not mention any specific locations.

“There are over 51 rooms in the museum, which are being searched by security personnel. So far, no suspicious object has been found,” a police officer stated.
