Amid humidity for several days in Delhi, the national capital on Saturday witnessed light showers giving relief to the residents. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) issued a yellow alert and has warned of heavy rainfall in several areas over the next two hours.
According to the weather body, the alert covers areas in South Delhi, Tughlakabad, among others. Delhi registered a minimum temperature of 28.7°C on Saturday, according to IMD.

The national capital, according to the weather body, is likely to witness thunderstorms accompanied by rain for both Saturday and Sunday.
“Moderate to heavy rainfall accompanied with moderate thunderstorm and lightning (40-60 Km/h gusty winds) is very likely to occur at few places of Delhi ( Jafarpur, Nazafgarh, Dwarka, Palam, IGI Airport, Vasant Vihar, Vasant Kunj, Hauzkhas, Malviyanagar, Kalkaji, Mahrauli, Tughlakabad, Chhattarpur, IGNOU, Ayanagar, Deramandi), NCR ( Noida, Dadri, Greater Noida, Gurugram, Faridabad, Manesar, Ballabhgarh) Jind, Hansi, Meham, Mattanhail, Jhajjar, Farukhnagar, Sohana, Palwal (Haryana) Sikandrabad, Nandgaon, Barsana, Agra (U.P.) Nagar, Deeg (Rajasthan),” IMD posted on X.

Meanwhile, traffic has been disrupted on PRAT Road in Sheikh Sarai towards BRT Road in Chirag Delhi amid heavy rain. According to a video shared by news agency PTI, several vehicles could be seen in a long queue due to the slow mobility of the vehicles.
