Indian cricketer Shreyas Iyer got ‘clean bowled’ by his mother while playing in his house’s living room. Iyer’s mother was bowling to her son from where the video was being recorded.

Punjab Kings, Iyer’s current Indian Premier League franchise, were amongst the several accounts which posted the clip on their feed. Accompanying the video was a witty caption which read, “Only time SARPANCH won’t mind getting bowled! 😂♥️”.

There has been plenty of engagement in the video’s comments section, with most of the parents commending Iyer’s mother’s zeal for the game.   

Iyer had a marvellous season with PBKS in IPL 2025. After being acquired for INR 26.75 crore at the mega auction, there was a lot of expectations from him. The big-money signing did not disappoint as he led the team to a top-of-the-table finish before making into their first final since 2014. However, it was not meant to be for PBKS, as they finished runners-up in the end after losing the final clash to Royal Challengers Bengaluru. Iyer had a stellar 604-run campaign, striking at 175.07 with six fifties under his belt.

When it comes to his international career, his non-selection to the 18-member Indian squad for their ongoing tour to England created quite a frenzy in the cricket community. He was not preferred despite a prolific IPL season and consistent performances for Mumbai in the domestic circuit, both in the red and white-ball arena. However, BCCI chief selector, Ajit Agarkar, confirmed that there were no vacancies available for the Mumbai batter in the team.
