Cook identified India as a vital market for Apple because the country ranks as the second biggest smartphone market and the fourth largest PC market worldwide. He stated that “We set quarterly revenue records on iPhone, Mac, and iPad, and an all-time revenue record on services.”

Apple’s CFO, Kevan Parekh, reported that iPhone revenue reached $85.3 billion during the December quarter which represented a 23 per cent increase from the previous year.

The new iPhone 17 family drove most of the growth while the iPhone 16 achieved strong sales results in India because Indian customers continue to prefer high-end products.

Apple’s success in India demonstrates how the Indian smartphone market has transformed because consumers now prefer to buy high-quality premium devices instead of low-cost budget smartphones.
