
The Pakistan Cricket Board has issued No Objection Certificates (NOCs) to 14 Pakistani cricketers, allowing them to feature in the upcoming Global Super League, scheduled to be held in Guyana later this month.
The tournament will be played at Providence Stadium, Guyana from July 23 to August 1, with five franchise teams competing for the title.
The Pakistan players who have received NOCs are Mohammad Haris, Shahab Khan, Mohammad Naeem, Abdullah Shafique, Farhan Yousaf, Shamyl Hussain, Mehran Mumtaz, Usman Khan, Ali Shabbir, Mohammad Farooq, Mohammad Imran, Mohammad Basit and Khalil Ahmed.
The 2026 edition of the Global Super League will feature five teams, namely Lahore Qalandars, Perth Scorchers, Desert Vipers, San Francisco Unicorns and Guyana Amazon Warriors.
Representing the Pakistan Super League as the reigning PSL 11 champions, Lahore Qalandars will kick off their campaign against Perth Scorchers on Thursday, July 23. They will then face Desert Vipers on July 24, Guyana Amazon Warriors on July 26, and conclude their league-stage fixtures against San Francisco Unicorns on July 29.
Among the players granted NOCs, Abdullah Shafique, Mohammad Naeem, and Mohammad Farooq are confirmed to represent Lahore Qalandars in the competition. The franchises for the remaining Pakistani players are yet to be officially announced.
In another development, the PCB has also granted an NOC to Maaz Sadaqat, allowing him to participate in the Caribbean Premier League (CPL).
The tournament is scheduled to run from August 7 to September 20 across the Caribbean and will feature seven teams for the first time. The participating franchises include Antigua & Barbuda Falcons, Barbados Royals, Jamaica Kingsmen, Guyana Amazon Warriors, Saint Lucia Kings, St Kitts & Nevis Patriots, and defending champions Trinbago Knight Riders, who will battle for the coveted title.
The first edition of the Global Super League was played in 2024, with the Rangpur Riders from Bangladesh’s BPL clinching the inaugural title. In the 2025 edition, hosts Guyana Amazon Warriors defeated Rangpur Riders in the finals.
