Aamir, Katrina Or Ranbir: Who’s The ‘Smartest’ With Money? Bollywood’s Favourite CA Reveals

When it comes to Bollywood stars and their bank accounts, it’s not always the biggest names who are the smartest with money. While Aamir Khan and Ranbir Kapoor may rule the box office, it’s Katrina Kaif who truly knows how to handle her finances.

In a candid chat with The Hollywood Reporter, Bimal Parekh—one of the industry’s most trusted chartered accountants—shed light on the money habits of Bollywood’s A-listers. According to him, Katrina Kaif is far ahead of her peers when it comes to understanding and managing money.

Katrina Kaif manages her finances better than Aamir and Ranbir

Katrina Kaif is the sharpest. She takes an interest. Aamir and Ranbir are not that bothered! Then Ritesh Sidhwani and Krishna DK (of Raj-DK director duo) are sharp as well, they understand money,” Bimal shared.

Interestingly, Bimal isn’t just Ranbir’s financial advisor—he also co-owns his football team. Reflecting on Ranbir’s late father, Rishi Kapoor, Bimal added that the veteran actor preferred having a family member involved in business decisions. Rishi was open to collaboration but always asked, “Who will run the team?”—wanting someone from the Kapoor family in charge.

As for Aamir Khan, he’s known for his unique approach to remuneration. Bimal revealed that he was the one who introduced the superstar to a profit-sharing model over an upfront fee.

How Aamir Khan was introduced to profit-sharing model

“No upfront fee, but profit sharing. This way, Laal Singh Chadha, the studio (Viacom 18) still made money, while Aamir made little. But in Dangal, Aamir made money. We started doing this at a time when everyone would charge an upfront fee,” he said.

Aamir had once casually mentioned to him that he purposely keeps his fee low to protect his producers from financial losses. Bimal recalled being surprised and suggesting, instead, that he skip the fee altogether and opt for backend profits.

Aamir himself confirmed this mindset at the ABP Live summit, saying: “I never received any money for Laal Singh Chaddha as it didn’t do well at the box office. I never get paid until the film makes any profit… I don’t regret it either. If the film has not worked well, it is on me to take the responsibility for it.”
