After the recent stampede at New Delhi railway station, a similar chaos was witnessed at Asansol railway station as thousands of passengers rushed to board trains heading to Prayagraj for the Kumbh Mela on Sunday. The incident has highlighted concerns about a similar tragedy that could occur in the future at any time.
Following the stampede tragedy that took place in New Delhi, the Eastern Railway officials launched special measures at Asansol station to manage the massive crowds. A rush to board the train resulted in overcrowding, underscoring the persistent challenges of handling large crowds during peak travel times. No injuries have been reported so far.
