Union Home Minister Amit Shah said on Wednesday that the BJP will win the assembly polls in Bihar and Tamil Nadu. Speaking at News18 Rising Bharat, he said that as the Lok Sabha polls result was declared, we got fewer voters, and the voters thought that they had not done well with Prime Minister Narendra Modi. So, they voted in large numbers in our favour in the Haryana and Delhi assembly polls.
The Union Home Minister also said that the youth of India must uproot politics of appeasement.
“Appeasement is a poisonous ideology. Those indulging in appeasement are against the nation,” Shah said as quoted by Firstpost. He also lashed out at the Congress and said that the grand old party brought changes to Waqf Bill to appease vote bank in 2013, months before 2014 elections.
“Those opposing the Waqf Act have vested interests. 21 lakh acres of land have been added to the Waqf property after 2013,” he said.
He also said that the southern states will retain their Lok Sabha seats on a pro rata basis.
“Is there anything happening in Himachal Pradesh on delimitation or any other governments ruled by INDIA bloc. Has the government announced a delimitation commission or appointed a supreme judge for delimitation. In Tamil Nadu, they are raising the issue to hide their corruption. I assure people of South India that the BJP will not do injustice and their seats will remain as per pro rata basis… If they stop this noise, then they have to answer about corruption and dynasty politics. They don’t want the election on issues,” he said as quoted by News18.
Speaking on the language row, the Union Home Minister said that he propagates Indian languages.
“I believe we need to preserve all Indian languages if we want to connect with our roots and history. Before our government, Congress imposed Hindi and English on students of all languages. We ensured that government exams are taken in regional languages as well. Students are studying medical and engineering in their regional languages,” Shah said.
