Apple registered strong 36 per cent year-on-year growth in iPhone shipments in India during the first half of 2025 (H1 2025), according to industry data released on Wednesday. The surge reflects the increasing appetite for Apple’s latest-generation devices among Indian consumers.
As per the data shared by CyberMedia Research (CMR), Apple also came across a 13 per cent growth in its iPad segment during the same period. The growth was led by strong demand for the newly launched iPhone 16 series, which accounted for a dominant 62 per cent share of all iPhones shipped in H1 2025. The iPhone 15 series followed with a 30 per cent share, while the iPhone 16e and iPhone 14 series each contributed around 4 per cent.
In the tablet segment, the iPad 11 series led with a commanding 64 per cent share, followed by the iPad Air 2025 series with 25 per cent. Older models such as the iPad Pro 2024, iPad Air 2024, and iPad 10 series contributed marginally.
CMR projects continued momentum for Apple in the second half of the year, estimating a 33 per cent market share in tablets and 11 per cent in smartphones.
Prabhu Ram, Vice President, Industry Research Group (IRG), CMR, attributed Apple’s growth in India to several factors. “Apple’s growth trajectory in India continues to benefit from a confluence of factors: improved affordability through financing schemes, a maturing ecosystem, localised production, and deeper retail presence,” he said in a statement.
He added that India remains a high-potential market for Apple, especially in the premium device category, where the brand is well-positioned to lead.
