Bharatiya Janata Party has issued a show-cause notice to its leader and Haryana minister Anil Vij amid a rift with Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini.
“This is to inform you that you have recently made public statements against the post of President of the Party and Chief Minister of the Party. These are serious allegations and it is against party policy and internal discipline,” stated the notice issued by Haryana BJP President Mohanlal Badoli.
The development comes as Vij consistently took indirect jabs at CM Saini for the past few days. The Energy and Transport Minister had alleged inaction against those who played a role in attempting to defeat him in the 2024 assembly elections from the Ambala Cantt seat.
He also claimed that a powerful political leader had backed efforts to ensure his defeat. However, CM Saini had dismissed any speculation of discord with Vij.

Issuing the show-cause notice Badoli said: “This step of yours is not only against the ideology of the party. Rather, this happened at a time when the party was campaigning for elections in the neighboring state (Delhi). At election time, while holding a respected ministerial post. You have made these statements knowing that such statements will damage the party’s image and it is completely unacceptable.”
“As per the instructions of National President JP Nadda, this show cause notice is being issued to you. We expect you to give written clarification on this matter within 3 days,” he added.
