Mohammed Shami has been directed the Calcutta High Court to pay monthly maintenance of INR 4 lakh to his estranged wife, Hasin Jahan, and daughter. A bench led by Justice Ajoy Kumar Mukherjee passed the order on a plea filed by Shami’s wife.
Shami will have to pay a monthly sum of INR 1.5 lakh and INR 2.5 lakh to his wife and daughter, respectively.
“In my considered opinion, a sum of INR 1,50,000/- per month to the petitioner no.1 (wife) and INR 2,50,000/- to her daughter would be just fair and reasonable to ensure financial stability for both the petitioners,” stated the court in its order on Tuesday, July 1, as per Hindustan Times.
There was an additional notification by the court that it was up to the Indian pacer to contribute beyond the aforementioned amount for expenses related to education and miscellaneous reasons.
