Canon launches video-centric interchangeable lens camera EOS R50 V in India under Rs 80,000; here’s all you need to know

Canon EOS R50 V Launched: Canon has launched the video-centric interchangeable lens camera, the EOS R50 V, in India for Rs 79,995, along with the RF-S 14-30mm F4-6.3 IS STM PZ lens. These are the first of their kind in Canon’s product lineup and are poised to meet the needs of next-generation content creators, according to the company.

Canon EOS R50 V Features

The EOS R50 V is designed without a viewfinder and streamlined for video shooting. With a compact body, it can be easily supported by grips and gimbals.

The camera is equipped with recording modes such as Canon Log 3, which records a wider dynamic range. It also offers uncropped oversampled 4K 30p videos, cropped 4K 60p videos, and Full HD 100p/120p videos with audio.

In addition, the EOS R50 V includes 14 color filters and a new Slow & Fast Motion movie mode, which allows users to create 4K slow-motion and time-lapse videos that play back at 1/2.5x speed and 60x speed, respectively. A new feature called Cinema View sets cinematic angles of view and frame rates, enabling users to create expressive, film-like movies.

RF-S 14-30mm F4-6.3 IS STM PZ: First Lens with Built-In Power Zoom

The RF-S 14-30mm F4-6.3 IS STM PZ is Canon’s first RF lens with built-in power zoom. It is approximately 6 cm long and weighs about 181g. Users can perform controlled servo zooming using either the lens’ zoom ring or the zoom lever on the EOS R50 V, according to the official release.

With a wide-angle 22.4 to 48mm equivalent angle of view, the lens offers better usability for video shooting compared to conventional kit lenses. It zooms to 30mm (48mm equivalent) at its long end and features a 0.15m closest focusing distance and 0.38x maximum magnification.
