The issue of arbitrary fee hikes and student expulsions by private schools in Delhi has reached the Chief Minister’s public grievance forum — named ‘Jan Samvad‘. Several parents and students from Queen Mary School in Model Town raised serious allegations against the school administration, accusing it of unjustly collecting fees and expelling children when parents refused to comply.
Responding swiftly, Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta directed the Education Department officials to launch an immediate investigation and take strict action against those found guilty. Gupta said, “Parents of children from some schools are constantly meeting me and telling me their problems. It is certain that no school has the right to harass any parent or child, threaten to expel them from school or increase the general fees.”
