Delhi CM Rekha Gupta Finance Department; Parvesh Verma Gets PWD: Check Full List Of Portfolios

Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta took charge of the office on Thursday after a grand swearing-in event at the Ramlila Maidan in the national capital. Along with Gupta, Parvesh Verma took oath as the Deputy Chief Minister while five other legislator were sworn in as cabinet ministers. 

Following the oath-taking ceremony, the Delhi cabinet has taken its shape with Gupta keeping finance and other portfolios not assigned to other ministers while Parvesh Verma got PWD and Manjinder Singh Sirsa allotted the food and supplies department. 

  1. Rekha Gupta (Chief Minister): Finance, Planning, GAD, WCD, Services, Revenue, Land & Building, I&PR, Vigilance, AR. Any other department not allocated to other Ministers.
  2. Parvesh Sahib Singh Verma: PWD, Legislative Affairs, I&FC, Water, Gurudwara Elections 
  3. Ashish Sood: Home, Power, UD, Education, Higher Education, Training & Technical Education. 
  4. Manjinder Singh Sirsa: Food & Supplies, Forest & Environment, Industries 
  5. Ravinder Singh (Indraj): Social Welfare, SC & ST Welfare, Cooperative, Elections 
  6. Kapil Mishra: Law & Justice, Labour Department, Employment Department, Development, Art & Culture, Language Department, Tourism Department 
  7. Pankaj Kumar Singh: Health and Family Welfare, Transport, Information Technology.  

“I will hold the portfolios of departments of General Administration, Service, Finance, Revenue, Women and Child Development, Land and Building, Information and Public Relations, Vigilance, Planning and other departments which are not allocated to any other minister,” said the Chief Minister following the first Cabinet meeting. 

The Bharatiya Janata Party announced Rekha Sharma’s name as the Delhi CM on Wednesday during the legislature party meeting. She won her first assembly elections this time from the Shalimar Bagh assembly constituency.

After taking the oath, Gupta went to the Delhi Secretariat along with the sworn-in MLAs and assumed the charge of Chief Minister. 

Later, the leaders reached the bank of Yamuna and performed Yamuna arti. 

Gupta, along with the ministers held the first Cabinet meeting amid expectations of major announcements.

The Cabinet is likely to take a decision regarding the implementation of Mahila Samriddhi Yojna for a monthly payment of Rs 2,500 to eligible women as promised in BJP’s poll manifesto, reported PTI quoting sources.
