A weather warning from the Regional Meteorological Centre, Delhi, read: “Heavy rain/snow accompanied with thunderstorm/lightning at isolated places over Jammu & Kashmir and Himachal Pradesh. Thunderstorm / Lightning accompanied with Hail at isolated places over Uttarakhand and Thunderstorm/Lightning at isolated places over Punjab, Haryana and Chandigarh.”
AQI ‘Poor’
According to the Central Pollution Control Board data, the Air Quality Index (AQI) in the national capital remains worrisome. The AQI in Delhi was recorded at 247 on Wednesday, which falls in the ‘Poor’ category. AQI is considered good between zero and 50, satisfactory between 51 and 100, moderate between 101 and 200, poor between 201 and 300, very poor between 301 and 400 and severe between 401 and 500.
At 5:30 PM on Thursday, the overall AQI of Delhi was 260.
