Elon Musk-owned X (formerly called Twitter) went down for several users globally for many users on Saturday evening, leaving thousands of them unable to access their feeds or send messages. Downdetector showed a surge in outage reports around 6 p.m. The disruption in X came a day after the social media platform suffered a global outage on Friday marking the second consecutive day of technical error.
According to DownDetector, over 2200 users faced issues at the peak of the glitch. For a brief time, the platform was down on both desktop and mobile. However, services have since been restored, and now it is functioning normally.
A significant 68% of the problems were related to the X mobile app, followed by 24% reporting issues with the website, reports DownDetector. The server connection problems accounted for 8% of the total reports.
As the platform is now back online, the users are once again able to share their thoughts. On X, the TwitterDown hashtag has started trending in India. At the time of the post being written, the hashtag was used in a total of 2,799 posts.
Twitter Down Trending On X
“X(twitter) is behaving like a newborn baby which is going down, breaking down in minutes. A newborn cries only for his or her needs. X is crying for Well established maintenance. Ek pal idhar Ek pal Udhar,” posted a user with X user name VoiceForIndian.
Another user named Peaky wrote, “Seeing many X posts dated Jan 1, 1970 —what’s up with that? Anyone else facing this glitch?”
