The flight carrying 26/11 Mumbai terror attack accused Tahawwur Rana from the US landed in Delhi on Thursday (April 10). Rana, a Canadian national of Pakistani origin, was extradited to India on a special flight after his final attempt to evade extradition failed as the US Supreme Court justices rejected his application.
Rana arrived in India a day after a multi-agency Indian team left from the United States with him on a special flight. Elaborate security arrangements were made ahead of his arrival in India, with a bulletproof vehicle kept ready for him to be transported to the the National Investigation Agency (NIA) Headquarters from the Palam Technical Airport.
The Delhi Police Special Cell has been placed on alert and SWAT (Special Weapons and Tactics) commandos had already been deployed at the airport.

Rana To Likely Be Arrested By NIA
The 64-year-old, a close associate of one of the main conspirators of the 2008 Mumbai terror attacks, David Coleman Headley alias Daood Gilani, is expected to be lodged in Tihar Jail in Delhi.
Rana is likely to be arrested by the NIA and reports say that the NIA has also recently obtained a court order on the transfer of his case from Mumbai to Delhi. He has been charged with criminal conspiracy, waging war against the government of India, murder and forgery and under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act and is accused of playing a key role in the attacks that claimed 166 lives in Mumbai.
During a joint press conference with Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the White House in February, President Donald Trump had announced that his administration has approved the extradition of “very evil” Rana.
“I am pleased to announce that my administration has approved the extradition of one of the plotters and one of the very evil people of the world, having to do with the horrific 2008 Mumbai terrorist attack to face justice in India. So he is going to be going back to India to face justice,” President Trump had said.
