Galaxy Z TriFold Debut: Samsung unveils its first triple-folding smartphone with 10-inch display — Highlights

Samsung Galaxy Z TriFold Unveiled: Samsung on Tuesday, December 2, introduced a new foldable smartphone – the Galaxy Z Trifold – that has a large 10-inch display when opened twice. With this unveiled, the tech company expands its leadership in innovative phone design for the AI-powered mobile era.

“Built on a decade of foldable category innovation, Galaxy Z TriFold showcases engineering mastery with its most advanced foldable technologies optimized for the unique demands of a multi-folding design,” the company said.

Samsung said the Trifold was designed based on insights from how people use their devices.

“Samsung’s relentless pursuit of new possibilities continues to shape the future of mobile experiences,” said TM Roh, Chief Executive Officer, President and Head of Device eXperience (DX) Division at Samsung Electronics.

“Through years of innovation in foldable form factors, Galaxy Z TriFold solves one of the mobile industry’s longest-standing challenges — delivering the perfect balance between portability, premium performance and productivity all in one device. Galaxy Z TriFold now expands the boundaries of what’s possible for mobile work, creativity and connection,” he added.

According to the company, these are the key highlights of the newly unveiled Samsung Galaxy Z TriFold:

• The device is extremely slim at just 3.9mm at its thinnest point and is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite mobile platform optimised for Galaxy.
• It also has a 200-megapixel camera and the largest battery ever used in a Samsung foldable, a 5,600 mAh three-cell system spread across all its panels.
• To keep the phone slim and durable, Samsung has redesigned key components. The Armor FlexHinge is reinforced with two different-sized hinges that allow for easy folding.
• The 10-inch folding display is reinforced with a shock-absorbing layer, and its exterior uses advanced materials, including a titanium hinge housing and high-strength aluminium.
• Each unit undergoes stringent quality checks, such as CT and laser scanning, to ensure precision and durability.
• With its large 10-inch screen, the Galaxy Z Trifold is designed for high productivity and powerful AI experiences.
• When fully opened, it functions like three 6.5-inch smartphone screens, allowing users to multitask with three apps open simultaneously.
• Apps like My Files and Samsung Health have been optimised for the larger display, and the taskbar makes it easier to switch between recently used apps.
