Ghaziabad Railway Station Witnesses Chaos As Hindu Body Defaces Aurangzeb’s Mural: Video Surfac

The members of the Hindu Raksha Dal blackened a painting created at the Ghaziabad Railway Station on Friday, leading to a row. The painting was reportedly created as part of a beautification project.

Speaking to news agency ANI, the DRM of Delhi Division, Pushpesh Raman Tripathi, said that the painting was not of Aurangzeb; it was of Bahadur Shah Zafar. He further added that it is not appropriate to deface any public property. Tripathi assured that action will be taken accordingly.

“It (the painting) was not of Aurangzeb, it was of Bahadur Shah Zafar…It is not right to deface any public property and action will be taken accordingly,” Tripathi said, as quoted by news agency ANI.

According to India Today, a Hindu Raksha Dal member, Vipin Rajput, said that they did not want to see the picture of such a vile person who had committed atrocities against their ancestors. The protestors demanded the removal of such imagery and said, “This country belongs to our heroes like Mahala Pratap, Surajmal, and Brahmji, not to thieves like him.”

The protest led to chaos on the platform as the group defaced the artwork and also continued to protest.
