A woman from Uttar Pradesh’s Gonda allegedly threatened to chop off her husband’s body and put the parts in a drum, similar to a recent murder which occurred in Meerut.
The video of the incident has gone viral on social media. In the video, a woman can be seen hitting a man with the stick portion of a floor wiper outside the house while arguing, then she directs him to get inside the home. The purported video was captured in a CCTV.

On Saturday, both parties filed complaints, and action will be taken as per the rules after investigation, according to a PTI report.
Husband’s Accusations
Junior Engineer (JE) Dharmendra Kushwaha, who originally hails from Jhansi, works with the Jal Nigam in Gonda. He accused his wife, Maya Maurya, and her lover, Neeraj Maurya, of assault and threatening to kill him.
Kushwaha said that he had a love marriage with Maya Maurya, a resident of the Basti district, in 2016.
Kushwaha further alleged that after the birth of their daughter, he purchased three four-wheelers in Maya’s name and continued paying the instalments. In 2022, he bought land in her name and entrusted the house construction contract to her relative, Neeraj Maurya. During this period, Maya grew closer to Neeraj, and their relationship deepened after Neeraj’s wife passed away during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Kushwaha claimed that on July 7, 2024, he caught Maya and Neeraj in a compromising position. When he confronted them, he was assaulted, and Maya left the house. She allegedly returned with Neeraj on August 25, 2024, forcibly broke the lock, and entered the house. Kushwaha further accused her of fleeing with a 15-gram gold chain and cash.
He also said that he had filed a complaint in this regard, on September 1, 2024.

According to PTI, on March 29, 2025, Maya threatened to kill his mother, and they got into an argument again. Then, she, along with her lover, Neeraj, beat up both mother and son. This is when Kushwaha said she threatened him with a fate like the Meerut murder case.
She was referencing the murder of a merchant navy employee who was murdered by his wife and her lover, who stabbed him and cut his body parts in a drum, then filled it with cement.
Maya’s Accusations
Meanwhile, Maya claimed that her husband’s accusations were false. She said that Kushwaha has been harassing her and has forced her to have an abortion four times. In her complaint, she said that Kushwaha had beaten her in July 2024, after which she lodged a report at the women’s police station.
After this, he filed a divorce case and forced her out of the house, she alleged.
On Sunday, Kotwali Police Station SHO Vivek Trivedi stated that several legal cases involving the husband and wife are currently pending in court. The police said that an investigation of the recent incident and the CCTV footage is under examination.
