In the wake of the escalating tensions between India and Pakistan, the District Magistrate of Gurugram, Haryana has used a stringent order prohibiting the use of explosive substances, drone, Micro Light Air Craft, Glider/Power Glider, Hot Air Balloon, Kite Flying, and Chinese Micro Light by anti-social elements and terrorist organisations in the district from May 9 to July 7, 2025.
The District Magistrate of Gurugram, IPS Ajay Kumar, also directed the general public during marriages, religious festivals, celebrations, and in any kind of activities in the jurisdiction of the District to avoid bursting any kind of fireworks & firecrackers.

Order To Be Effective Till July 7
The order was issued under Section 163 of the Bhartiya Nagrik Suraksha Sanhita, 2023, prohibiting the use of various aerial and celebratory objects in the district, and it will be in effect from 12:00 AM on May 9, 2025, and will remain valid through July 7, 2025.
“Whereas it is commonly seen that during weddings, happy celebrations, and religious festivals, fireworks and firecrackers, etc., are widely burst by the general public. In the outgoing situation, the noise made by such firecrackers creates panic amongst the general public, which leads to fear of actual bomb, drone, and missile attacks and deteriorates the law and order situation, “the directive read in a statement.
The statement further confirmed that any violation of this order will attract penalties under Section 223 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023, along with other applicable legal provisions.
Tensions between India and Pakistan soared significantly after India launched Operation Sindoor early Wednesday in response to the Pahalgam terror attack on April 22 that had claimed the lives of tourists.
