How the accident happened
The crash occurred around 2:30 a.m. on National Highway-9 near the Chaupala Chauraha overbridge in Gajraula. According to local authorities, the SUV carrying Pawandeep collided with a stationary canter truck that had broken down on the roadside. The vehicle was reportedly parked near the Circle Officer’s office.
Along with Pawandeep, two other individuals — the driver Rahul Singh and another passenger, Ajay Mehra — were also hurt in the impact. Eyewitnesses and police said that passersby quickly rushed the injured to a nearby hospital, from where they were referred to a higher-level medical facility for advanced treatment.
Inspector Akhilesh Pradhan of the Gajraula police station confirmed to PTI that both vehicles involved in the incident have been impounded, and legal proceedings are in progress.
