Ishan Kishan took a well-judged catch to send his opposite number Abishek Porel packing in the crucial encounter between Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) and Delhi Capitals (DC) at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium on Monday, May 5.
Pat Cummins led SRH from the front after winning the toss and opting to bowl first. The SRH skipper picked up the wickets of DC openers Faf du Plessis and Karun Nair in his first couple of overs. Cummins had his tail up as he came on to bowl his third over on the trot inside the powerplay. Abishek Porel, who was itching to break the shackles, went for a flick after seeing the Australian captain erring in his line. However, the DC wicketkeeper-batter only managed a leading edge, which went a long way up in the air.
Kishan called early while running towards the ball. In the end, he had to put in the dive to complete the catch as Cummins picked up his third wicket of the match. DC were in dire straits, having lost three wickets for 15 runs inside five overs. However, things went from bad to worse when Axar Patel and KL Rahul were dismissed in overs six and eight, respectively.
The onus will now be on Tristan Stubbs and Vipraj Nigam, who joined forces at the score of 29/5 in the eighth over, to take the visitors to a respectable total.
