IPL 2025: DC vs MI, Match 29 – Full highlights, top moments & who won today?

Mumbai Indians emerged victorious in Match 29 of the ongoing edition of the Indian Premier League by getting the better of Delhi Capitals by 12 runs in an intensely fought contest at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi. This was the first loss DC faced this season after being on a four-match winning streak.

Being put in to bat first, MI put up 205/5 in the first innings. Tilak Varma top-scored with 59 off 33. A couple of 40s from Ryan Rickelton (41 off 25) and Suryakumar Yadav (40 off 28) were vital too. Naman Dhir’s 38-run blitzkrieg ensured the momentum remained with MI at the mid-innings break. Kuldeep Yadav starred with splendid figures of 2/23 in four overs.

As for DC, Karun Nair was the star of the show for them. His mind-boggling knock on IPL return had DC remain in the chase. The moment he departed for 89 (40) courtesy of a beautiful delivery by Mitchell Santner, things fell apart for the Axar Patel-led side. No other batter other than Abishek Porel (33 off 25) could even manage a 30-plus score.

1. Axar Patel’s acrobatic effort saves five runs at the fence

A brilliant save at the long-off fence on the fourth delivery of the 18th over of the first innings by Axar off a fierce hit by Naman almost turned out to be a blinder of a grab. However, Axar did superbly well to compose himself and throw the ball in the field of play while not being in full control of his strides near the fence.

2. Karun Nair lights up stage with fiery knock

Playing his first game of the season, Karun blazed his way through to an unreal knock while taking on even the likes of Bumrah. He tore apart the MI bowling attack while on his way to a staggering 89-run score off just 40 deliveries.

3. Mitchell Santner produces peach of a delivery to get rid of well-set Karun Nair

Only a delivery as immaculate as that of Santner could lead to the bludgeoning of Karun to be flummoxed while looking all set to take the game away from MI’s reach.
