IPL 2025: Fans don’t let Virat Kohli speak during trophy celebration at Chinnaswamy

Virat Kohli‘s attempts to address the crowd at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru were hilariously denied by the passionate supporters who were relentlessly chanting ‘RCB’ and ‘Kohli’ during Royal Challengers Bengaluru’s felicitation on Wednesday, June 4.

By the time the anchor of the event was done with his introductory speech, the crowd, who was already in anticipation of the mic being passed onto Kohli, began roaring out loud. Kohli and the anchor tried their best to diffuse the situation to let the former start with his speech. However, all efforts to quieten the bunch of ardent supporters ended in vain.

The anchor even had to switch to Kannada to try and regulate the situation. He was successful in doing so after a point, after which Kohli went on to thank the fans for their unwavering support through thick and thin over the years. Kohli attributed the title victory to the fans as much as the members of the team and the management.

Speaking of RCB’s triumph in Ahmedabad, they emerged victorious by six runs against Punjab Kings on Tuesday, June 3. They were sent in to bat first by the Shreyas Iyer-led outfit and ended up posting 190/9 in their 20 overs. Kohli (43 off 35) top-scored for RCB. There were four batters whose cameos were crucial too.

Coming to the run-chase, Shashank Singh (61* off 30) batted with belligerence lower down the middle-order. However, the top-order batter did not contribute enough. Apart from Josh Inglis (39 off 23), no other batter actually fired. Iyer was dismissed cheaply on one off two. Krunal Pandya (2/17 in four overs) was adjudged the Player of the Match (POTM).
