United Breweries Ltd (UBL), the Bengaluru‐based brewer under the Heineken Group, has officially relaunched its heritage strong beer brand Kalyani Black Label Strong in West Bengal, reviving a label long associated with the states beer culture. The brand is being reintroduced in 650ml bottles across leading retail outlets in the state.

Vikram Bahl, Chief Marketing Officer, UBL, said the relaunch was designed to celebrate the beer’s legacy while reaching a new generation of consumers.Ā 

“Kalyani Black Label Strong is a brand deeply rooted in Bengal’s beer culture. With its return, we want to celebrate this legacy while also welcoming a new generation of beer drinkers to experience it. Relaunching at an accessible price point allows us to not only honour Kalyani Black Label Strong’s iconic status but also drive wider adoption and growth for the category in West Bengal,” he said.

Kalyani Black Label has historically enjoyed strong regional recall and consumer loyalty, particularly in eastern India. Its comeback underscores UBL’s strategy of leveraging both its national and regional portfolios to cater to varied consumer tastes. The company’s broader line-up includes Kingfisher Strong, Kingfisher Premium, Kingfisher Ultra, Kingfisher Ultra Max, Kingfisher Ultra Witbier, Kingfisher Storm, Heineken, Heineken Silver, Amstel Grande, Heineken 0.0, Kingfisher Premium Water and Kingfisher Soda.

United Breweries Ltd shares were trading at ₹1,797.40 on the BSE at 2:00 pm, up Rs 20.85 or 1.17 per cent from the previous close of Rs 1,776.55. The stock opened the day at Rs 1,799.95.
