
Tension gripped Uttar Pradesh’s Bijnor after a Kanwariya died after falling ill. The devotee, carrying a ‘Dak Kanwar’, was administered an injection by a doctor, after which the Kanwariya died on the spot.
The incident took place in Roshanpur, under the jurisdiction of Kotwali Dehat Police Station, reported IANS.
Following his death, the fellow Kanwariyas blocked the Haridwar-Kashipur Highway and raised slogans against the police administration, as per the report.
A large police force has been deployed at the scene.

The deceased has been identified as Rampal alias Babu (25), a resident of Khadavva village under Seeviganj police station in Bareilly district, according to a local media report. The deceased’s brother, Satpal Gangwar, said that his brother was suffering from a mild fever and pain.
He alleged that his brother died due to a doctor’s negligence who administered the wrong injection to him, leading to his immediate death.
The incident sparked outrage among other kanwariyas who blocked the national highway and created a ruckus. Upon receiving information about the blockade, Nagina Circle Officer Anjani Kumar reached the spot with a heavy police force.
Police officers tried to pacify the irate kanwariyas who appealed to the police for justice. The matter is under investigation.
