The Lokayukta police on Wednesday asserted that no evidence was found against Karnataka CM Siddaramaiah, his wife and other in the Mysore Urban Development Authority (MUDA) case.
The MUDA ‘scam’ centers on accusations of irregularities in the allocation of compensatory sites by the Mysuru Urban Development Authority. The land under scrutiny was allegedly gifted to Parvathi by her brother, Mallikarjunaswamy, in 2010.
In 2017, MUDA reportedly decided to allocate an alternative site to Parvathi to compensate its land acquisition. She submitted another petition in 2021, seeking an alternative site, and in January 2022, she was granted 14 plots. However, the government discontinued the 50:50 scheme in October 2023. In July 2024, Siddaramaiah reportedly sought compensation of Rs 62 crore, alleging that his land had been wrongfully acquired.
