Maharashtra CM Fadnavis Summoned By Bombay HC In Petition Challenging His Assembly Poll Win

The Nagpur bench of the Bombay High Court issued a summons to Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on Thursday after a petition challenging his 2024 election win from the Nagpur South-West Assembly seat.

According to a report by news agency ANI, the petition was filed by Congress candidate Prafulla Gudadhe, who lost to Fadnavis, and filed a petition urging the court to declare the election result “null and void.”

The court has also summoned BJP MLAs Mohan Mate and Kirtikumar Bhangdia in connection with similar petitions.

Fadnavis has been asked to respond by May 8. Meanwhile, Gudadhe’s lawyers, Dahat and AB Moon, accused that several mandatory provisions were not followed amid the elections held in November last year, according to PTI.

The Mahayuti alliance secured a landslide victory in the Maharashtra Assembly elections 2024, securing 230 out of 288 seats, which led to him being sworn in as Chief Minister of the state.
