Mayawati Expels Nephew Akash Anand From BSP: ‘Influenced By Father-In-Law, Driven By Selfishnes

Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) chief Mayawati on Monday expelled her nephew Akash Anand from all key party positions. Mayawati said that a meeting of the party leaders were held on Sunday where Akash Anand was relieved of all his responsibilities due to the influence of his father-in-law, Ashok Siddharth, over him.

Mayawati said that Akash Anand had the opportunity to show maturity and remorse after his removal, but instead, his response reflected arrogance, selfishness, and a lack of political discipline.

Keeping with the tradition of discipline set by Kanshi Ram, Akash Anand has been expelled from the party like his father-in-law for the benefit of the BSP, the party supremo added.

The decision comes a day after Mayawati removed Anand, who is her nephew, from all party posts and appointed his father Anand Kumar and Rajya Sabha MP Ramji Gautam as national coordinators in his place.

“In the BSP’s All-India meeting yesterday, Shri Akash Anand was relieved of all responsibilities, including National Coordinator, as he remained under the influence of his father-in-law, Shri Ashok Siddharth, who had been expelled from the party. He was expected to show remorse and demonstrate maturity. However, on the contrary, the lengthy response given by Shri Akash was not a reflection of his regret or political maturity. Instead, it was largely influenced by his father-in-law and was driven by selfishness, arrogance, and a non-missionary mindset,” Mayawati said in a post on X.

“In the interest of the self-respect and dignity movement of the revered Baba Saheb Dr. B.R. Ambedkar, and in adherence to the tradition of discipline established by Shri Kanshi Ram, Shri Akash Anand, like his father-in-law, has been expelled from the party for the benefit of both the BSP and the movement,” the BSP chief added in a series of posts on X.
