The Aam Aadmi Party on Saturday slammed the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party in Delhi over its promise to give monthly financial assistance to women.
The party said the saffron party gave no date on when the money will be distributed after it earlier said that women will start getting Rs 2,500 from March 8.
Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta announced earlier in the day that a committee headed by her has been formed to impelement the Mahila Samriddhi Yojana.

Not Guarantee But ‘Jumla’
Attacking the BJP for not fulfilling its promise, the Leader of the Opposition in the Delhi Assembly and AAP leader Atishi said that it was not a guarantee but a “jumla” by the party.
“PM Modi in one of his rallies promised that on 8th March Rs 2500 will be deposited into the account of the women… Today was the day, and the women of Delhi were waiting,” she said.
“But, today, the BJP-led Delhi govt has proven that it wasn’t PM Mod’s guarantee but ‘jumla’. Leave alone giving the money; the women didn’t even get a scheme or portal for registration… They got a 4-member committee…,” she added.
Priyanka Kakkar, AAP spokesperson said, “”No date was given today. Earlier, it was said that women would get Rs 2500 on March 8, but today, only an announcement has been made.”
“Now it has been said that terms and conditions will be applicable but they were not told while taking votes…,” she added.
