YouTuber and podcaster Ranveer Allahabadia, popularly known as BeerBiceps, has landed in controversy over inappropriate remarks made during his appearance on comedian Samay Raina’s show India’s Got Latent.
The episode also featured YouTuber Ashish Chanchlani and content creator Apoorva Mukhija, known as The Rebel Kid, among others. However, what was meant to be a lighthearted segment has now sparked widespread backlash.
Ranveer Allahbadia’s Controversial Question
During the show, Ranveer asked a contestant an unsettling question: “Would you rather watch your parents have sex for the rest of your life — or would you join in once and stop it forever?”
The question drew immediate criticism from viewers, with many calling it crude and inappropriate. Journalist and author Neelesh Misra took to X (formerly Twitter) to condemn the remark, sharing a clip of the moment and writing:
“Meet the perverted creators who are shaping our country’s creative economy. I am sure each one has a following of millions. This content is not designated as adult content — it can be seen with ease even by a child if the algorithm takes him or her there. The creators or the platform have zero sense of responsibility.”

Social Media Backlash
Neelesh further criticised both the audience and panelists for laughing at the question rather than calling it out.
“You, the audience, normalised and celebrated this and people like these. Decency is not incentivised in India — by platforms or audiences — and creators are stooping lower and lower for audience reach and revenue,” he added.
Many social media users also pointed out the irony of Ranveer being honored by Prime Minister Narendra Modi with the Disruptor of the Year award at the National Creators Award in 2024, questioning whether such recognition was justified.

Imagine the Indian celebrities, business czars & politicians who invite or do podcasts with men like @BeerBicepsGuy & @ReheSamay
If vulgarity & obscenity had any limit, such men annihilated it

BeerBiceps is a bot. Just spouts whatever is fed into him by his handlers. That content is decided by an algorithm. Will start making fun of himself if that gets traction. The sheer lack of personality is astounding pic.twitter.com/z2W1gCsTkI

Ranveer’s Spiritual Image vs. Controversy
Adding to the outrage, netizens highlighted the contradiction between Ranveer’s usual public persona—he often shares insights on spirituality and self-improvement—and his remarks on the show. This stark contrast made the incident even more jarring for his followers.
Ranveer Allahbadia has yet to respond to the backlash.
Meanwhile, India’s Got Latent, hosted by Samay Raina, is a YouTube-based parody of India’s Got Talent, where guests humorously critique contestants’ “latent” talents. However, this latest controversy has raised concerns about the kind of content being promoted under the guise of comedy.
