Maharashtra minister and BJP leader Nitesh Rane on Sunday spoke on a host of issues including the Aurangzeb controversy, speculations of alliance between Uddhav and Taj Thackeray and the ‘Rooh Afza’ row.
Speaking on the Aurangzeb controversy, Nitesh Rane said that Maharashtra is the land of Chhatrapati Sambhaji Shivaji Maharaj and Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj.
“Some MLAs in Maharashtra with a Jihadi mindset, like Abu Azmi, they spoke some things about Aurangzeb. Because of his remarks, everyone’s blood boiled. We also don’t want that there should be a controversy in our state,” the Maharashtra minister said in a podcast with ABP News.

Nitesh Rane, the son of former Maharashtra Chief Minister and Union Minister Narayan Rane, was also asked whether he is drinking ‘Rooh Afza’ or ‘Gulab sharbat’ during summers.
The BJP leader in his response said, “I drink gaumutra a lot. And I am telling you it’s very good for health.” He added that he doesn’t drink ‘Rooh Afza’, adding that no one would offer him ‘Rooh Afza’ with good intentions.
Recently, Baba Ramdev had triggered a controversy while promoting Patanjali Sharbat claiming “toilet cleaners being sold in the name of soft drinks and sharbat Jihad.” Though Baba Ramdev didn’t name any juice, social media users were quick to point out that he was apparently hinting at Rooh Afza.
Nitesh Rane also spoke on the speculation of alliance between the estranged cousins – Uddhav Thackeray and Raj Thackeray – by asking if Uddhav had consulted his wife Rashmi before responding to a statement by MNS chief
Over the past few days, Raj and Uddhav have sparked speculation about a possible reconciliation with statements indicating they could ignore trivial issues and join hands for the sake of Maharashtra and the Marathi ‘manoos’.
“You should ask Uddhav Thackeray whether he took Rashmi Thackeray’s permission before making any move towards joining hands with the MNS. Her opinion holds more weight in such decisions,” Rane said in the podcast.
The minister also alleged it was Rashmi Thackeray who played a central role in the exit of Raj Thackeray from the Shiv Sena despite there being no major differences between the two cousins at the time.
On the possibility of Shiv Sena (UBT) and the Maharashtra Navniram Sena coming together, Rane point out that the BJP-led Mahayuti has won emphatically in Maharashtra, so his party is not concerned about any alliance between the cousins.
