The Sambhal administration on Wednesday announced a series of measures ahead of Eid celebrations, which is scheduled on Monday (March 31).
Sambhal Sub-Divisional Magistrate Vandana Mishra said that people will not be allowed to offer namaz on the street and use loudspeakers. Mishra further called for mutual harmony and peace during Navratri, Ram Navami and Eid.
“People have been instructed to maintain mutual harmony and help each other during upcoming festivals including Eid, Navratri and Ram Navmi…It is not allowed to offer namaz on the street, and use loudspeakers,” she said.

“The demand for offering namaaz on the roofs has been raised and people have been informed that this will be investigated. If there is a possibility of mishappening, then it will not be allowed,” she added.

Sambhal Circle Officer Anuj Chaudhary said that law and order should be maintained in the area and every person has their right.

Restrictions In Meerut
Apart from Sambhal, strict action will be taken against offering Eid prayers on the streets in Meerut. The SP City has issued a stern warning regarding enforcement.
Extra forces have been deployed in sensitive areas to ensure security. Worshippers will be monitored through CCTV, drones, and local intelligence.
As per reports, a police official in Meerut warned that passports and licences will be seized if prayers are offered on the streets. The police have urged people not to pray on the roads. Notably, last year, cases were filed against 200 people for defying orders.
