In an advisory, the Association of Healthcare Providers India (AHPI), which advocates for hospitals and healthcare facilities throughout India, requested that its member hospitals cease providing cashless treatment services to Bajaj Allianz customers from September 1, 2025. The action was taken in response to member hospitals’ complaints that payment rates were not updated to reflect growing medical expenses.
On Thursday, August 28, 2025, the AHPI will meet the executives from Bajaj Allianz General Insurance Company to address the suspension of cashless treatment services.
The meeting will include AHPI’s core committee members and senior representatives from Bajaj Allianz, following a dispute over reimbursement rates for hospitals.
Meanwhile, according to a Zee Business report, in reply to the healthcare association, a Bajaj Allianz spokesperson said, “We have always stood for what’s good for the citizens of our country, and no undue pressure will buckle us down; none of our customers will suffer. As of now, we have not received a single case of denial of cashless, but even if we do, we shall ensure that our customer gets the money in their account before they have to pay the hospital.”
Also, sources at Bajaj Allianz are saying that it’s the price they are paying, as Tapan Singhel, being head of the council, has been trying to regularise the pricing at hospitals, and the negotiation meeting is on 28th September.
