Pakistan Army Chief Rakes Kashmir, Says ‘We’re Different From Hindus’

Pakistani Army chief General Asim Munir has again raised the Kashmir issue, days after India slammed the neighbouring nation for bringing up the matter during a United Nations debate on peacekeeping reforms. The Army chief said that no power in the world could separate it from Pakistan.

General Munir said India and Pakistan are two different nations, not one. He also invoked the two-nation theory and said India and Pakistan are different in every possible way.

“Our forefathers thought we are different from Hindus in every possible aspect of life. Our religions are different, our customs are different, our traditions are different, our thoughts are different, our ambitions are different. That was the foundation of the two-nation theory that was laid there. We are two nations, we are not one nation,” he said.

General Munir also vowed to crack down on terrorists in Balochistan and said, “Even ten generations of terrorists cannot harm Balochistan and Pakistan.”

“You think, terrorists, they can take away the destiny of our country from us? If this great Pakistani nation and the Pakistani armed forces, if 1.3 million Indian Army, with all their weaponry, if they cannot intimidate us, these terrorists can subdue the armed forces of Pakistan?” he said at the event.
