A casual worker and her 24-year-old male friend were arrested on Sunday, three months after the woman’s 14-year-old daughter filed a complaint against her. According to Times Now, the teenager alleged that her mother secretly filmed her while she was bathing and changing clothes and later circulated the videos among friends and relatives. She even uploaded the video on social media.
A Standard 8 student, according to the Bibvewadi police, allegedly discovered her mother’s extramarital relationship with the friend and disclosed it to their landlord. According to the senior inspector Shankar Salunke of the Bibvewadi police, the woman filmed her daughter and circulated the videos earlier this year in an attempt to divert her family’s attention and prevent her daughter from exposing her relationship. Her male friend, too, helped her in sharing the clips that led to his arrest as well.
The incident came to light in January this year when the aunt of the girl informed her about receiving one of the video clips. The teenager then filed a complaint, prompting police to examine the videos and the websites where they had been uploaded.
According to Times Now, quoting Sub-inspector Ashok Yevale of the Bibvewadi police, the probe confirmed that the videos were recorded and uploaded using the cellphone of the mother. The woman, on being informed about the FIR, fled from Pune. The police have been searching for the woman and her male friend for the last three months.
