Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw on Tuesday launched the ‘RailOne’ mobile app during the 40th Foundation Day celebrations of the Centre for Railway Information Systems (CRIS). Available for download on both Android and iOS platforms, the app is designed as a comprehensive solution for nearly all railway-related services under one roof.
RailOne brings together essential features like booking of reserved and unreserved tickets, platform tickets, train and PNR enquiries, journey planning, and even food ordering on trains. It also includes access to Rail Madad, the Indian Railways’ grievance redressal system, and provides options for freight service enquiries.
A Cleaner, Smarter Experience
The app stands out for its focus on simplifying the user experience. Its interface is clean, minimalistic, and designed for effortless navigation. According to the Railways, “It not only combines all services at one place but also has several integrations between services to give the user a complete package of Indian Railway services.”
Another key innovation is the single sign-on functionality. Users can log in using credentials from existing apps like RailConnect or UTSonMobile, eliminating the need to remember multiple passwords. For new users, registration requires only minimal data, making the onboarding process quick and frictionless.
Light on Phone, Big on Features
Gone are the days when travellers needed multiple apps for different railway functions. With RailOne, Indian Railways aims to consolidate services into a single app, saving device space and reducing clutter for passengers. A biometric or numeric mPIN login adds to the convenience.
The app also incorporates R-Wallet, a digital wallet designed for railway transactions. For casual users or those just looking to make a quick enquiry, a guest login via mobile number and OTP is also available.
With this launch, Indian Railways is clearly signalling its commitment to digital transformation, with a focus on user-centric design and convenience.
