In a firmly-worded post, Suryakumar Yadav denied the rumours which were floating around in relation to him following Yashasvi Jaiswal from Mumbai’s domestic side to that of Goa. The post on X was shared by India’s T20I skipper on Wednesday, April 2.
He quashed rumours which were originally spread by a leading Indian newspaper by questioning the actual profession of the individual who drafted the piece. He also remarked that the buzz in relation to Surya’s move and the news on the same was ekdum bakwas (totally absurd).
“Script writer hai ya journalist? Agar hasna hain toh I will stop watching comedy movies and start reading these articles. Ekdum bakwas,” he captioned while sharing a screenshot of the report, claiming it to be misleading for the audience.

Surya particularly highlighted the bit in which the article had mentioned that he was the primary driving source behind instigating players to think of shifting sides. Surya is currently leading Mumbai Indians in the ongoing edition of the Indian Premier League.

Jaiswal’s switch to Goa
Notably, the 23-year-old Jaiswal announced a shock move from Mumbai to Goa on the same day. Jaiswal rose to prominence during his time with Mumbai. He also made the cut to the Indian Test and T20I sides on the back of prolific performances in the Ranji Trophy and white-ball domestic tournaments.
Jaiswal clarified his decision while speaking to The Indian Express. He paid tribute to Mumbai and the Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) for shaping him into the player he has ultimately become. He also expressed his willingness to help Goan team in their domestic endeavours whenever he is not on national duty.
Jaiswal is currently representing Rajasthan Royals in IPL 2025. The opening batter has registered two single-digit scores in his three innings so far. He would be keen on coming good with the bat to assist his franchise into securing better starts within the powerplay.
