Sri Lanka’s women’s cricket team has announced a 17-member squad for the upcoming ODI Tri-Nation Series against India and South Africa, set to begin on April 27 in Colombo. The series, an important part of their preparation for the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup 2025, will see Sri Lanka fielding a squad with several changes from their recent tour of New Zealand, including the inclusion of three uncapped players.
The biggest change to the squad comes in the form of the three uncapped players, including a 24-year-old spinner, Malki Madara, a 19-year-old allrounder, Dewmi Vihanga, and a 29-year-old allrounder, Piumi Badalge. These three are among six changes made to the squad that toured New Zealand earlier this year.
Madara, who made a memorable debut during the T20I series against New Zealand with a match-winning three-wicket haul, has earned a call-up to the ODI squad. Meanwhile, Sri Lanka has welcomed back some experienced players. Veteran spinner Inoka Ranaweera, along with Hasini Perera and Hansima Karunaratne, has been recalled to the squad.

The Sri Lankan batting lineup remains similar, with skipper Chamari Athapaththu taking the captaincy duties. Alongside her, there are Vishmi Gunaratne, Harshitha Samarawickrama, and Nilakshika Silva, all of whom will be expected to deliver strong performances in the middle order.
The squad also features several well-known all-rounders, including the star duo of Kavisha Dilhari and Anushka Sanjeewani. Both have been crucial to Sri Lanka’s recent success and will be important in the tri-series.
Meanwhile, 17-year-old Manudi Nanayakkara, who impressed on the New Zealand tour with a quick 35, is another player added to the roster. The fast-bowling attack will be handled by Achini Kulasuriya and Rashmika Sewwandi, both of whom will be hoping to make a significant impact.
