Tata Power Q1FY26 Results: Tata Power reported a steady rise in profits for the first quarter of FY26, with a net profit of Rs 1,060 crore, up 9 per cent from the same period last year. The company earned Rs 971 crore in Q1 FY25.
Revenue from operations grew modestly, increasing 4 per cent year-on-year to reach Rs 18,035 crore, compared to Rs 17,294 crore a year ago.
A large part of this growth came from Tata Power’s renewables business, where profits surged. The firm reported a 95 per cent jump in profit after tax, reaching Rs 531 crore for the quarter. It added 94 MW of new green energy capacity, taking its total operational renewable portfolio to 5.6 GW.
One of the standout performers, however, was the rooftop solar segment. Tata Power saw revenue from rooftop installations more than double to Rs 823 crore, while profit after tax rose sharply to Rs 90 crore, a 260 per cent increase over last year.
The company installed 45,500 rooftop systems in the April–June period alone, crossing a major milestone of 2 lakh total installations, with total capacity now above 3.4 GWp.
Tata Power continues to lead the rooftop solar market in India, driven by growing demand for decentralised energy and increasing affordability of solar solutions.
The company’s EBITDA also rose by 17 per cent year-on-year, touching Rs 3,930 crore in Q1.
