Dynamic cricketer Marnus Labuschagne pulled off a truly spectacular grab during Match 4 of the Champions Trophy 2025 between Australia and England at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore. Interestingly, the middle-order batter completed a catch off his own bowling while being given the ball to close out England’s innings.

Having scalped Ben Duckett after the southpaw scored a record-breaking 165 in the 48th over, Labuschagne was instructed to bowl the final over of the innings. It was on the second delivery when Labuschagne snapped up Brydon Carse. Carse, in a bid to launch the tossed up delivery over the fence, ended up top-edging the ball. With there being no mid-on and instead a long-on in place, Labuschagne ran back, ending up judging the soaring ball to perfection by taking it over his shoulder.

He ended up with figures of 2/41 in five overs. It was a valuable performance from him, considering he was the seventh-change for the Steve Smith-led side. England ended up with amassing 351 on the board; the highest score in the history of the Champions Trophy up until now. Other than Duckett’s commendable knock, Joe Root impressed with a composed 78-ball 68-run knock.
