Watch: Ghibli trend gone wrong, ruins Dhoni-Jadeja’s iconic IPL celebration

The viral Ghibli AI trend went wrong in emulating the iconic celebration of MS Dhoni and Ravindra Jadeja from 2023 after Chennai Super Kings (CSK) clinched their fifth IPL title against Gujarat Titans in Ahmedabad. The Men in Yellow clinched a nail-biter as Jadeja tickled the final delivery of the rain-curtailed match for a boundary to deep fine leg.

Immediately after Jadeja stroked the boundary, he ran towards the then-CSK skipper in sheer elation. The two cricketers shared a heartwarming embrace, with Dhoni picking up Jadeja in a display of pure emotion. However, a representation of the same by AI went quite wrong. In the portrayal made by the AI software, there seem to be two additional individuals in the picture. 

Interestingly, it was the fifth title won by CSK and their second in three years. It was a thrilling win for the visitors in summit clash at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. For a vast majority of the game, it seemed as if GT had the upper hand and would end up clinching their second IPL title in consecutive seasons. However, vital contributions from batters helped the Men in Yellow to snatch away the prize from the Hardik Pandya-led GT at the last moment.

Although Dhoni was dismissed for a golden duck, Jadeja kept his calm to end up on a six-ball 15 to guide his side to a memorable victory. The celebration shared by Dhoni and Jadeja was quite an emotional one for the supports of the joint-most successful franchise of the competition. This was due to a lot of speculations spreading in relation to the 2023 edition being Dhoni’s final one.
