Mohammad Amir and Saim Ayub were involved in an exchange of words during the first over of the run-chase between Quetta Gladiators and Peshawar Zalmi in Match 2 of the ongoing edition of the Pakistan Super League on Saturday, April 12. Ayub ended up getting dismissed on the delivery after notching up his half-century on 50 off 38 deliveries. Amir wrapped up the innings, yielding figures of 2/11 in 2.1 overs. The 22-year-old southpaw emerged as the highest run-scorer for his side. Quetta ended up emerging as comprehensive victors by 80 runs. Ayub also bowled three overs during the first innings, conceding 26 runs in three overs.
Abrar Ahmed was awarded the Player of the Match accolade for his four-wicket haul. Earlier in the game, Quetta racked up 216 with opening batters, skipper Saud Shakeel and Finn Allen, registering 59 off 42 and 53 off 25. Rilee Rossouw and Kusal Mendis finished the innings unbeaten with quickfire cameos of 21 off 10 and 35 off 14, respectively.

PSL 2025 got underway on Friday, April 11 with Lahore Qalandars taking on Islamabad United at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium. The 10th edition of the PSL is all set to be a cracker of a spectacle. The final of the tournament is scheduled for Sunday, May 18.
