[WATCH] ‘Sabko khushi hai, maa ko bhi khushi hai’ – Abhishek Sharma’s mother expresses her happiness after son’s record ton

Sunrisers Hyderabad opener Abhishek Sharma played one of the most iconic knocks of the tournament against Punjab Kings (PBKS) in Hyderabad on Saturday, April 12. The young southpaw finally found his feet this season with an incredible century at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium. Abhishek’s mother, in an interview, shared an emotional reaction to her son’s whirlwind century.

The knock of Abhishek Sharma changed the game completely for SRH, who at once looked out of the game with a target of 246. Abhishek went on to score 141 runs off just 55 deliveries and helped the team chase down the total with relative ease. The IPL released a video recently which along with his SRH teammates also included his mother, who talked about his poor run in the tournament ahead of the blistering knock.

“Sabko khushi hai, maa ko bhi khushi hai, pure Hyderabad ko khushi hai ki match jeeteya. Thoda stop lag gaya tha lekin ab nahi lagega, ab continue chalega (Everyone’s happy, I’m happy, all of Hyderabad is happy that we won the match. There was a bit of a halt earlier, but not anymore – now it’s going to continue),” Abhishek’s mother said in the video.

The season ahead for Sunrisers Hyderabad

Despite the incredible performance in the last game, there are still a lot more matches left for SRH to get their season on track They have won two out of the six matches they have played and will be playing their two upcoming fixtures against the Mumbai Indians. The first game will be played at the Wankhede Stadium on April 17, and the second game on April 23 will be hosted by them.

The next eight games will be very important for the Orange Army to make a comeback after going through a phase where they had lost four games in a row before their record-breaking chase against the Punjab Kings.
