Woman, Two Minors Enter South Delhi Boutique, Rob Bridal Outfits Worth Rs 2 Crore

A woman has been arrested for allegedly robbing Rs 2 crore worth of bridal outfits and other items from a boutique in South Delhi.

Two minors, who allegedly aided the woman in the robbing incident, have also been taken into custody.

The incident happened at 11:15 pm on March 1 in south Delhi’s Fatehpur Beri where the woman, accompanied by the two accomplices, approached the security guard of the boutique operating inside a farmhouse.

The woman claimed to be a relative of the owner and requested entry to use the washroom. As soon as the guard opened the door, the two masked men attacked him and tied him up, Additional Deputy Superintendent of Police (South) Achin Garg said.

The three then took 50 high-end outfits, electronic equipment, paintings and other valuables from the showroom.

The police said that the robbers also stole the boutique’s CCTV DVR to erase the evidence and then fled the scene in a tempo van.

How The Police Caught The Robbers?

Though the three robbers managed to rob the boutique and run away with the valuables, the police began their investigation looking for clues. When the security guard managed to free himself after the robbery, he alerted the police.

Upon reaching the crime scene, the police found out that the accused had also stolen the boutique’s CCTV DVR to avoid being identified.

“The robbers had stolen the boutique’s CCTV DVR to erase evidence. But police traced the tempo van used in the crime,” the officer said, according to NDTV.

The sleuths began the investigation and started to track the suspects. They located the van in the Manglapuri area, where a crucial clue emerged.

While the accused had covered the tempo van’s number plate with a black tape. However, the CCTV footage showed the tape partially removed, revealing the letters ‘RAJ’, which gave the cops a clue.

The investigation led to the identification of the tempo owner, who revealed that his classmate had borrowed the vehicle.

When the police caught hold of the juvenile, he confessed to the crime and revealed the details of the robbery.

The police said that the minors, both residents of Sultanpur, planned the robbery as one of them was familiar with its layout and the value of the outfit.
